bits of a bird’s autumn

we are in the thick of autumn here in the northwest. i’ve been drinking in these autumn days. soaking up the rich colors. kicking up dirty leaves. jumping in still puddles. & taking the longer route home after a neighborhood stroll. the air is crisp with a chill, yet warmed by the scent of burning leaves & mulling cider. blankets are piled high. the bookshelf is fully stocked with a selection from the library, board games & yarn for crochet projects.
for a season that brings such an abrupt chill, it sure is cozy & warm! :)
here are some scenes from autumn so far:

since moving, i now have a dreadful commute to & from work that can take me anywhere from 25 minutes to over an hour. BUT it’s sights like this that make it just a bit more tolerable…

tea-time evenings. after a long workday, it’s either a cup of tea or a glass of wine in our little abode.

i found this gem at the thrift store near my apartment a couple weeks ago. it reminds me of B & me… i think it’d be fun to recreate this someday.

halloween is one of my favoritefavoritefavorite parts of fall. beekeeper & the beehive/honeycomb/queen bee (you decide). i had so much more planned for my costume but flat ran out of time to execute it right.

sun puddles after a morning drizzle.

football is a distinctive sign of fall.

colorful walks around town.

& lastly, a sweater, maxi dress, boots & a hat will get you through any sunny autumn day.
