we very happily rang in this beautiful new year. i feel so lucky to have been able to spend it with some of my favorite people (B, V, amber & kyle). a couple days before NYE we decided we would research NYE traditions from around the world & do as many of them as possible at midnight. it ended up being a very silly & playful way to celebrate the beginning of 2012.

beforehand, B & i had drinks at a sushi restaurant down the street before meeting up with V & kyle for our last supper of 2011.

a snapshot of traditions:

• put a dollar in your shoe to promote good fortune. 
• write a list of bad things/bad habits/regrets from 2011 & burn it at midnight (after doing this i realized how god damn good 2011 was to me, i didn’t have too much i needed to put on my list). 
• eat 12 grapes, one good thing per month in the new year. 
• carry luggage around the block to promote safe travels throughout the new year. 
• smooches at midnight (duh). 
• toasted to each other & the new year.

lastly, we made sure to be in great, happy moods during the whole evening, as we believe it would set the tone for the entire year! :)
